Privacy, confidentiality and conflicts

Lesson 1

Collect only information needed for the task. Public research forms are for public questions and sources. Do not add identity documents, bank details, private case files or privileged legal communications.

Lesson 2

Keep restricted work in its authorized workspace. Do not share accounts, copy private records to personal drives or publish another volunteer’s details. A public aggregate report must not reveal private contact notes or identities.

Lesson 3

Disclose relationships or interests that could affect your task before assignment. A declaration is not clearance: an authorized coordinator reviews it. If you expose information accidentally or discover an error, stop the affected activity and report it through Contact & requests; preserve the record for correction.
